According to statistics released by Electronics TakeBack Coalition in 2014, a total of 3.4 million tons of e-waste was generated in 2012. Out of this total, only 1 million was recycled in some way or form. This is shy of 30%. Consider the environmental impact that these trashed e-waste generates every year. These fused materials are denied of the recycling process not because the task is impossible, but it requires too much resources. How many parts in your computer have multiple materials that are fused into single units? Too many. The answer ‚Äčlies in refurbishment.

Refurbished computers and electronics products are revamped and restored to meet the expectations of a new product. Most refurbished products have no noticeable deficits in relation to new products. The worst case scenario is that there may be a tiny scratch or minor blemishes that will be hard to notice.
